The term transnational education emerged considering the broad changes that are still unfolding in the field of higher education throughout the world. It represents worldwide patterns in academia in capacity enhancement, mobility of individuals and keeping in mind the future. Transnational education is regarded as the service of education on global scale or on a cross border level involving educational institutions or students and academicians of more than a single nation. It also makes higher education programs more accessible to learners regardless of location of the granting institutions.

Transnational higher education serves different purposes in different countries. The benefits of transnational delivery include:

TNE can take three forms:

1. People mobility-based education: a person can go abroad for educational purpose.

An internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional or community setting. 3 Types of Internships can be provided through TASA Global under this vertical.

1. Short-term Corporate Internship – The students can avail internship based on selection by the concern corporate for 30 to 90 days unpaid internships.
2. Long Term Corporate Internship – The students under paid internship can avail for a period of 6 months or 12 months. This is a selection based product.
3. Virtual Internship – The student can avail Global experience on a virtual platform. Thereby the student can gain an international exposure virtually.

Global Admission Lab

A detailed Profiling of the student is done based on the assessment. The study will lead to selecting stream, programs and universities suitable to the profile. TASA plays a very important role in building the profile of the student and to better chances in higher ranked universities. 

Building a profile for a particular student involves several important steps to meet international universities acceptance. TASA actively involves with the student to develop Statement of Purpose (SOP). A statement of purpose (SOP), sometimes referred to as a personal statement, is a critical piece of a graduate school application that articulates admissions committees, on who the student is and his / her academic and professional interests, and how the student will add value to the graduate program he /she is applying. SOP guidance is critical and TASA helps to impress upon the admission stakeholders and avoid rejection. 

Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is another important document which a student gets guidance from TASA. A letter of recommendation or recommendation letter, also known as a letter of reference, reference letter or simply reference, is a document in which the writer assesses the qualities, characteristics, and capabilities of the person being recommended in terms of that individual’s ability to perform a particular task or function. Letter of recommendation is typically related to employment (such a letter may also be called an employment reference or job reference), admission to institutions of higher education, or scholarship eligibility. Recommendation letter specifically requested to be written about someone, and therefore addressed to a particular requester (such as a new employer, university admissions officer, etc.), although they may also be issued to the person being recommended without specifying an addressee.

Global Education Pathways

TWINNING / ARTICULATION

The arrangement allows students to pursue their education in their homeland for a certain time period. Then, the students move to a foreign collaborative institution during the later stages of the course. After the completion of the course, students will be awarded a degree from a partnered university abroad or Indian University or Both Universities.

The schedule or duration of a twinning / articulation programme usually varies. 

1. PG – 0.5 Yrs in India and 1.5 Yrs. in International Country. Or, 1 Yr. in India and 1 Yr. in International Country.
2. UG – 2 Yrs. in India and 2 Yrs. in International Country. Or, 1 Yr. in India and 3 Yrs. in International Country.
3. Integrated – 2 Yrs. In India and 3 Yrs. In International Country.

International Experience Programs (IEP)​

International Experience Program is an effort to move in the direction of becoming a “Global University”. Presently this program is being offered by select universities mainly in private sector and some public universities e.g., GTU.

Student Experience Programs is an Academia driven program ranging from 45 days to 60 days. The students can avail the program on the basis of sponsoring on their own. The program is open to all streams and can avail anywhere in the Globe. They have a complete exposure to international people, stay, culture, food and beverages, travel, etc. 

TASA Global can also exclusively design programs for the (University / College) to meet the requirements.

Short Term Academia Led Internship– The Student on the basis of self-finance can take an internship ranging from 6 to 8 weeks.

Short Term Academia Led Immersion – TASA can also create academia led international immersion programs which are self-financed (short terms programs abroad or study tours abroad) for group of students for a duration of 7 days to 15 days. 

Short Term Programs in University – The student can also avail on the basis of self-finance to take a Short Program at a Global University as an additional skill to enhance his or her profile. 

Semester Abroad – A student can avail international exposure by studying a semester of his / her course abroad to hone his / her skills further and gain a global experience.

STUDY IN INDIA

The Study in India programme seeks to endorse India as a prime education hub for international students by inviting them to pursue their higher education in the country. Govt. of India in April 2018 initiated The Study in India, for foreign students an opportunity to study in India. But the universities should follow guidelines laid down which are as follows: 

• Study In India (Selection Condition)
  • National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Accreditation of 3.26 and above. 
  • Or, Ranked among Top 100 in any category except medical by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). 
  • Or, Have the status of Institute of National Importance (INI).
  • Or Institute of Eminence (IOE).

The process of enabling Study in India is a long drawn process and the following steps are required to be done University / College end:

1. As per the Govt. Norms, required to complete the documentation and seek necessary approvals to invite foreign students to study in India. The norms to follow are provided above in the concept. 
2. Once approvals are received, University / College should initiate the process of allocating fund to market / propagate the university at foreign countries. The efforts of marketing may require 12-18 months to create the awareness and start seeing foreign students coming to University / College to study. 
3. University / College as having a NAAC Accreditation Rating of 3.71 and Grade A+. Thereby can allow foreign students to study. But should take necessary Govt.  approvals for entertaining foreign students. 

TASA can provide the front end and its network to propagate in selected international countries. The financial arrangement needs to be discussed.

On receiving necessary approvals by University / College, can start working on neighbouring countries like Nepal and Bangladesh. But University / College is required to allocate marketing fund for creating awareness in these markets as well. Post which students on having created enough buzz in these markets will show interest to join in University / College. But the process will be a long drawn one and may take 12-18 months for students to come in University / College.

TASA can also provide technical assistance to ensure readiness to engage in this initiative. Additional details on this aspect can be discussed at a later stage. It is however important at this time to recognize the broad and deep effort and plans that are essential for this initiative to be successful at all stages of approval in-country as well as for successful marketing of the same externally.
